Collecting Personal Information
The information requested on the Nomination Form and the Teacher's Self
Portrait Form constitutes all the personal information that NEiTA
will collect from you during the application process. NEiTA will record the information on its secure
database. It is necessary to maintain the database so as to ensure that
eligibility requirements are adhered to from year to year.
If all questions are not fully answered, NEiTA
may not be able to assess the nomination properly.
The Purpose of Collection
The information you provide will be used to assess the nomination.
The information is also:
- used to
publicise the NEiTA Awards. The
Nominee’s information may be used for media publications, but only with
the nominee’s consent.
- to be
collated to create statistical information, but only for internal use
- to be listed on the
NEiTA Awards Recipients' List on this website
- to provide
members with on-going communication about NEiTA.
Disclosing
Information to Other Organisations
The
information that NEiTA collects from you may be disclosed:
- in the
normal course of business
- to
associated organisations of NEiTA.
NEiTA
undertakes to you:
- that it will
not sell, rent or trade any of your personal information to any person
other than those outlined in this Statement
- that it will
not disclose information about you to anyone else unless the disclosure:

- is
authorised by law, or
- you have
consented to the disclosure.
Accessing
Your Personal Information
You
can ask NEiTA:
- to confirm
whether or not it holds any of your personal information

you with access to all readily retrievable personal information that it
holds about you.
If NEiTA is able to, it will
give you that access. If NEiTA refuses your request for access, it will give you the reason for that refusal.
Correcting
Your Personal Information
If NEiTA has any personal information about you which is incorrect or out of date, you can ask it to
correct that information. NEiTA will take reasonable steps to correct the information free of
charge.
Security of data
We want to ensure that you can visit our website with complete confidence. NEiTA takes reasonable
steps to preserve the security of personal information, in line with this privacy statement. In most
browsers, there is a mechanism to check whether data transmissions are secure or not. Unfortunately,
no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed as totally secure. Once we receive your
transmission however, we take reasonable steps to preserve the security of the information in our own
systems.
Cookies:
Cookies are data files that are placed on a user’s hard drive by a Web Server that collects information
about the user’s activities at a site. Cookies are not employed when accessing the NEiTA
website, and are therefore not used to collect personal information.
Changes
to this Privacy Statement
This Privacy Statement is not a
static document, and NEiTA may make changes to it at any time for any
reason. NEiTA will publish
these changes on its website.
