Awards Guidelines

Awards Process

Certificates, awards and grants are presented to teachers, directors and principals as selected representatives of inspirational teaching in Australian schools and early childhood centres.

Stage 1:

Nomination


A Certificate of Nomination will be presented to nominees whose candidature for the awards is approved after verification by the NEiTA Foundation.


Stage 2:

60 State & Territory Awards
 
Sixty teachers will be selected to receive ASG Inspirational Teaching Awards at the State and Territory level. Each teacher will be presented with a specially minted and engraved plaque, and a commemorative Award Certificate.

Award recipients will become eligible for consideration for a national award in one of three categories:
  • ASG Leadership and Development Award
     
  • ASG Innovation Award
     
  • ASG Community Engagement Award
  •  


Stage 3:

10 National Awards and ASG Grants

Ten teachers will be presented with National Inspirational Teaching Awards through the NEiTA Awards program, in three special award categories: Leadership and Development, Innovation, and Community Engagement.

Teachers will receive a specially crafted NEiTA crystal apple and an ASG grant of $5,000 to be used for their professional development or a chosen project.

International Space Camp Prize: One National Award recipient will be selected to receive ASG sponsorship as the Australian teacher representative to the International Space Camp, an international gathering of gifted teachers, at the US Space & Rocket Center, Alabama, USA.
