New South Wales / Australian Capital Territory:

The Foundation received nominations for outstanding teachers from a range of schools in both NSW and the ACT. There was strong regional support for nominations from Tamworth, New England, the Hunter, the Riverina, and from Bathurst-Orange. Teachers selected for Regional Awards reflect the quality of nominations and recognise the achievements of teaching specialists as well as those of preschool, general primary and secondary teachers.

Awardees were welcomed at the Parkroyal Darling Harbour Hotel on 10 October by the Vice-Chairman of the NEiTA Foundation, Dr. Arnold Bonnet. The awards were presented by
Dr. Wendy Jarvie the Deputy Secretary of The Commonwealth Department of Education, Training and Youth Affairs, representing Dr David Kemp, Federal Minister for Education, Training and Youth Affairs.
