State Award Recipients 2003
(This page is large and may take a while to download)

Queensland:

The Foundation received a large volume of nominations for outstanding teachers from Queensland schools from Goondiwindi to the Gulf. This year there were a number of multiple nominations from schools of distance education and from high schools as well as nominations of teacher principals from small country schools. Among the outstanding teachers nominated, there were several special education teachers and specialist music, drama, science and technology teachers. Teachers selected for the Regional Awards reflect the spread of excellent teachers throughout teaching systems within the state.

Awardees were welcomed at the Novotel, Creek Street, Brisbane by the Chairman of the NEiTA Foundation, Mr Terry O'Connell with the awards presented by the Parliamentary Secretary to the Queensland Minister for Education, Mrs Jo-Ann Miller MP. Teachers short-listed for further consideration for the 2003 National Awards will be notified in first term.
