South Australia / Northern Territory:

Outstanding teachers from all States and Territories were honoured in state and regional award ceremonies during May and June 2000. Following over 2400 nominations from class parents, secondary students and school communities. Some 100 of the best teachers were presented with awards at the five ceremonies listed below. Each teacher received a commemorative plaque and curriculum materials for the school or preschool from which they were nominated.

South Australian and Northern Territory teachers were presented with National Excellence in Teaching (NEiTA) Awards by the Hon. Mark Brindall representing the SA Minister for Education in the Hindley Room, Novotel , Hindley St , Adelaide, at 12.30pm on Wednesday, 17 May 2000.
