Indicates the teacher has been selected for a Regional Award.

Regional Awards recognise exemplary contribution to education and are presented to teachers representing excellence in their profession drawn from schools and early childhood services, both public and private, throughout New Zealand.

In New Zealand, 20 teachers receive the awards.

Each recipient receives the Foundation's plaque and endowments for their schools at a gala function in Wellington.

Indicates the teacher has been selected for a National Award.

National Awards recognise outstanding representatives of teaching excellence who are selected by independent regional and national selection panels from the 20 New Zealand regional award recipients. Each receives the Foundation's lead crystal trophy. Awards are presented at honouring ceremonies in the teachers' schools.

Indicates the teacher has been selected as a Grant Recipient.

All regional award recipients present proposals for expenditure of a professional development grant of up to $5,000. Three grant recipients are selected on the merit of their submissions by independent panels.
